About Us

Weiming Lake, is a landmark scenery of Peking University, Alma Mater of the Weiming Angels. Legend has it that when the lake came into being, many people compete to bid a good name for it but it seemed no name could match the amazing beauty of the lake, and it was ultimately named “Weiming”, which means “not named” in Chinese, following the suggestion of Chinese historian Mu Qian. Among Weiming’s angels, there are serial entrepreneurs (e.g. co-founder of AsiaInfo), core executives of high-flying startup companies, winner of Female Executive of Large Enterprise, and leading accounting, legal and media professionals in the U.S. and China. We cover a diverse range of industries, including semiconductor, life science / biotech, internet / web services, network / telecom, consumer, industrial, renewable energy, insurance, financial services, etc.

Our History

In January 2014, four Peking University alumni initiated Weiming Angels. Some of them are serial entrepreneurs, some hi-tech executives, and others venture investors. Just like Weiming Lake is big enough to accommodate small creeks, Weiming Angels aims to gather the diverse expertise and background of its members to help and add value to its portfolio companies and their entrepreneurs. We strive for both depth and breadth in our investment strategy, while helping our portfolio companies grow.
